Habakkuk 3:17-19

What a journey it has been.

Dear Praying Friend,

What a journey it has been. We continue to see God work even in very difficult and confusing situations. First, here is some very good news! My wife, Ruth Hill, has gotten the all-clear by her first surgeon, and it was decided she does not need chemo or radiation for the uterine cancer. According to the doctors, it’s gone.

Her breast cancer seems to be clear as well. However, her oncologist wants her to see two other doctors to decide how to proceed to prevent the breast cancer from coming back, but it is all very good news and we are praising God for His goodness!

Now, about Fulton, the doctors seemed to have found what is causing him to get so sick. His pneumonia is gone and all his vital signs are good but it appears, Fulton is suffering from Ileus, which is a temporary and often painful lack of movement in the intestines. It occurs when the intestines do not move food through in the normal way. This is a very serious condition and can lead to death.

It’s been three weeks now and Fulton is worn out, but he wants to continue to live on to reach others for Christ. I’m convinced without your prayers, he would have left us a long time ago. God still has great things for him so please keep praying! The battle is worth the fight!

“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.” Habakkuk 3:17-19

God bless you! I’ll keep you posted about our journey. Thank you for being there for us. We love you very much!

Your Friend,
Dawson

  1. Praise the Lord for this good report! Prayers will continue for Fulton’s condition and for Ruth’s full and complete healing. Also prayers for Dawson’s heart and physical strength as he supports Fulton and Ruth. The Lord be your comfort.

  2. This is great news, Dawson! Indeed, God has amazing things yet in store for Fulton and all of you! That verse in Habakkuk is so incredible!! Despite circumstances that seem to cry out poverty! Lack! Hopelessness! We get to rejoice and be UTTERLY and COMPLETELY CONFIDENT in who our God is! He is our strength, He never changes and his Word stands forever! Yes!!!

  3. Dear Dawson and Ruth, You have been walking through many difficult waters. I am an RN and do understand alot of what you are describing, particularly with Fulton’s situation. May He refresh all of you deeply and fully. Though you cannot see with natural vision all that the Lord is doing and accomplishing through your dedicated seeking and walking to honor Him, there is being stored up for each of you a great treasure of Honor and Glory to Jesus. Continue to soak up the great refreshing love Father has for all!

  4. Praise God for the good news about your wife. Keep rejoicing in the Lord for what God is doing in and through Fulton.

  5. Oh Dawson! What wonderful news about Ruth’s miraculous recovery! Praising the Lord! And as for Fulton, his bravery and courage are a miracle in itself with all that he faces in a normal day and now with another added health challenge. He is a shining beacon for all of us who take so many pieces of our health for granted each day!

Oh God Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, may You so infuse Fulton with the knowledge of You and the healing power of the blood of Jesus that his body can’t help but respond? Yeshua, I know how very much You must love Fulton for not denying You in the face of so many challenges to his faith! May he be forever rewarded for his faithfulness and may many come to know and love You through his witness. In the powerful name of Jesus!
    Amen

  6. Thank you, Dawson, for sharing both your difficulties and joys with us from your heart. Our family faces many mountains and it is an encouragement to read of your continued trust in the Lord even when you don’t understand or when circumstances don’t turn out as you had hoped. It is a great testimony of God’s faithfulness in your family’s life and your desire to keep serving him even though faced with serious trials.

I have a time-sensitive request: If you have any connections with someone who has an affordable rental available in North Jersey, please let us know ASAP. Our pregnant daughter, along with her husband ( formerly an associate/ youth pastor) and 2 little girls, need housing desperately. They’ve been staying in a hotel for the past 7 months, but need to get out at the end of this month. If you could email me privately at tbraunlin@gmail.com, I can share more details. Thank you, Dawson!

  7. So glad to hear the good news about your wife! My mother is a cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when she was 65 and overcame that and then was diagnosed with breast cancer after she was “all clear” for a few years from the 1st bout with cancer. She underwent an operation and chemo for the first round of cancer and radiation for the 2nd round of cancer. Praise God she is cancer free again and she is 79 years young!

I have much hope for recovery for Fulton too. Praise God for the love and grace of Jesus. HE sustains us through it all.

My Mom is a believer and I was so comforted to know that while she was battling cancer – I knew she was in good hands no matter what happened. God is so good.

I thank God for you Dawson. The world 🌎 is a better place because of your faithfulness to Him. Keep up the good work in the Lord and always lean on Him. HE IS FAITHFUL !

  8. Praying for your family….. thank you for your faithfulness and witness to others about the Glory and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ…

  9. Thank you Lord for being so faithful to all! Thank you Lord for supplying complete restoration. Thank you Lord for caring for us all the time! Amen!!
Thank you so very much Lord!!!! Amen!!!!

  10. Such a positive report on Ruth Hill. We are praying that the other doctors will have the wisdom needed for her complete health so that she can get back to her daily life and feel good again.
Praying for Fulton’s to remain positive and for total healing. We want him to feel so much better.
Dawson, we’re asking GOD to give you all the strength that you need for all the things that you so. GOD bless you as you do his work with our youth.

  11. These verses have been so encouraging during difficult times. Asking the Lord to bless all of you with His touch. I found Isaiah 40:11 to bless me today. He tenderly and gently cares for us as our Shepherd.

  12. Thanks Dawson for the update. Nahum 1:9 for Ruth affliction will not come. Use the scripture to combat it. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Missed you Wednesday. 😇

  13. Dawson,

Still with you, and for you, in prayer.

Still also praying for the youth of this nation, and of this world.

    With Jesus’ love,
