“You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, the plague that stalks in darkness, or the calamity that destroys at noon. Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you.”

Waking Up Full of Fears

I woke up the other night, full of fears. I can’t believe what’s happening to our world. It’s like the whole planet is turned upside down with tens of millions of people locked in their homes for weeks. The more I thought about Fulton, I was extremely afraid for him. Who’s going to take care of him when the world goes even more crazy? I heard a commentary dealing with nursing homes. It talked about how they are being flooded with very old and sick people. I’ve been having to fight these worries every day and yet, as I turn to God, I find Him faithful.

What does God say to our anxious hearts? “He makes wars to cease throughout the earth; He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields in the fire. “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth.” The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah.” Psalm 46:9-11

As for Fulton’s future, God says, “You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, the plague that stalks in darkness, or the calamity that destroys at noon. Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you.” Psalm 91:5-7

How comforting is our God! I wonder what will happen next. Whatever it is, it won’t shake God. He is our refuge.

  1. I really cannot explain why that verse is so powerful. Have had that quote on my desk since my son passed away 25 years ago. I think it is a statement of the power of God and also His protection for us in all situations.

  2. Dear friends, Psalm 46,l God is our very present help in time of trouble therefore we will not fear. The Lord used that scripture to draw me to Him in 1989. I can only imagine what you & Ruth Hill are going through. Been praying Fulton will get computer app so he can communicate with you. God bless, love y’all. 🙏🤗🙏💞

  3. I think even strong Christians are dealing with this and have to fight it daily in this situation even though many would never admit to it. I like the Amplified version of Hebrews 3:18. I’ll just give you a sentence out of it that really struck me. …He is able immediately to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried(and who therefore are being exposed to suffering). The phrase, able immediately to run to the cry.. helps so much. A good prayer to read on your show! So this is what I’ll pray.
