I received a very beautiful, insightful and loving comment about Fulton. I had been writing about how he will never be as handsome as he once was. Yet God is using him in amazing ways.
Roy and Pat Thompson wrote, “Real beauty comes from within. You talk about how he lights up when he feels good, when he goes outside, when he sees his family. This is true beauty. It comes from his heart.”
She is right, real beauty does not come from the exterior anyway. It comes from within. I have been thinking about it this week, when I got a call from the nursing home. The doctor had a series of tests done on Fulton and is now convinced he is pneumonia free. When I told Fulton what the doctor said, there was a sweet smile on his face. He, with the Lord, using others, were able to beat the disease, yet another time. How beautiful is that?
I just came back from our town square where I was with my friend, Kenny and Fulton. We enjoyed being outside, taking in some sun. It was beautiful, warm, and sunny. It’s one of those moments you don’t forget. God, in His grace, is showing me there is so much more wonder than we could imagine. I’m more convinced than ever, God is showing His love, we just have to be attentive enough to see it!
David said, “One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.” Psalm 27:4
