“They who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary;”

It’s Hard to Wait on the Lord!

Here’s a word from Dawson…

It is tough to wait on the Lord! What could be any harder? “Come on, God, I have these needs. I have these hurts. I’ve got these expectations. Come on, haven’t we waited long enough? Lift it and shift it, Lord.”

It’s hard to wait on the Lord. Day in, day out, some people wait for years, others weeks, some months…waiting, waiting, waiting on the Lord. But I tell you, if I will do it, with God’s help, there’s some real benefits.

Isaiah 40:31, “For those who wait on the Lord, He shall renew their strength;”

You may be battered, and kicked, and stomped and feel like there’s no hope. Meanwhile though, God is renewing your strength, and suffering helps purity. When you’re struggling and you turn to the Lord, a lot of the temptations and junk in your life go away.

“He shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles;”

Light show — those eagles soaring through the clouds, with power, with beauty.

“They who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary;”

God will take weary right out of them, as we run God’s race.

“They shall walk and not faint.”

Let’s talk to God about this.

Lord,

It’s hard to wait on you, really, really hard. We’re trying, Lord. We believe, help our unbelief. Give us the strength we need to wait on you, because we know you’re in the renewing business. You will renew our strength. We’ll be like eagles, swooping through the clouds. We can walk and walk and get stronger and stronger, Lord, and you will help us. And then we look at ourselves and say, wow, look what God has done for us. We’re not the same person. I’m not the same person I was. Lord, we turn to you. Please help us to wait, to have courage. Only you can give it to us, and we desperately need it. Thank you, Lord, we’re going to thank you in advice.

In Christ name, Amen.
