Here’s a word from Dawson…
Perhaps you’ve heard me say from time to time,
“I love you enough to tell you the truth.”
Think of all the people who don’t love you enough to tell you the truth. It takes c-o-u-r-a-g-e to be confronted by someone or to confront someone else, especially if it’s your closest friend.
I want to ask you something. When was the last time you were confronted by your closest friend, lovingly I hope? They got into your face and said,
…you shouldn’t be with this guy.
…this girl is just going to hurt you.
…running away isn’t the answer.”
When was the last time? All your friends tell you the difficult thing to do, or speak truth into your life even though it hurts. They are telling the truth.
We get in trouble when we ignore reality.
So, tonight, tomorrow, let’s live reality. Let’s go back to our friends, and say,
“What you were saying again? How can you help me do the right thing?”
My friend, Dawson McAllister, created many timely life lessons for the everyday challenges we all face, I’m honored to continue sharing them with you each week.
