Highly Favored by God

I have been greatly helped by the prayers and encouragement all my praying friends have given me over the years. I always appreciate thoughts God has given you that you send onto me. For example, my friend, Kennie Smith, emailed me this message via Mark Gries:

She said: I read this in my devotion the other day and I was thinking of Dawson and how much he has been through in his life. This passage below really reminded me of him. Please forward it to him.

“Being highly favored of God does not mean a life of unbroken happiness nor does it promise that all your dreams will come true. There is a tremendous price to be paid by those who are highly favored by God; favor means, simply, that God is willing to use you.”  (Taken from the devotional on the YouVersion Bible app: Joy! How true it is! I often find myself mistakenly believing that because God has blessed me so much in the ministry, I am somehow immune from life’s struggles. One look at the life of Mary, Jeremiah, Isaiah, and yes Jesus, proves that belief is false. Real favor from God brings with it, real sacrifice. May God use these sacrifices to help us become more like Christ. Thank you, Kennie, for reminding me of this powerful truth! It really helped me!

Your Friend,
Dawson

  1. I am searching for direction as to what is God’s will or what I am to be doing for Him. I have a Bible College diploma but never felt like full time service was for me. I have done the church board thing, been Sunday School superintendant, etc. etc. Do you have any information on ministries. I am burdened for abuse victims.

  2. Dawson, remember Mary… She was highly favored by GOD. We know what she went through. They took her Son. He was denied, bruised, beaten, and crucified. Only to rise and rule in Heaven with his Father GOD!
As Christians, we are all favored by GOD. We are his children. He loves us more than anything. Our lives won’t be perfect but he’s always there to help us and love us.
His grace and mercy endures forever.
    Your friends,
    Roy and Pat Thompson
