“Casting all your care upon Him. He cares for you.”

Heave-Hoing Your Cares

Here’s a word from Dawson…

Here’s a verse to think about just for a second, a simple little thought. “Casting all your care upon Him. He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

I want to camp on that word “all” for a second. We’ve got plenty of anxiety. The Bible calls it “care”. We have plenty of care. Carrying a lot of care if you will. But God says in 1 Peter 5:7, “cast” that means like picking up a shotput and just heave-hoing it as far as you possibly can…just throw it.

I used to have this heavy, heavy saddle for my horses. I got it out in New Mexico, and boy, it was heavy. I liked it though. I liked the way it sat. But to get it on my horse, I had to rock that saddle a couple of times and sling it right up on top of his back. That’s what it means, cast, throw that saddle right on that horse with all you got.

So, whatever you have, whatever you’re carrying, the Bible says God cares for you. He loves you.

Throw that saddle on the back of that horse so to speak, and let’s ride partner ride, because the Lord surely does love you.
