“Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, LORD, are good.”

Do Not Remember the Sins of My Youth

Here’s a word from Dawson…

King David spoke to God in Psalm 25:7 in amazing ways, in a way that’s like you and me. David was a real human and so are we.

“Do not remember the sins of my youth.”

Ever laid in bed at night and start going over all the sins you’ve committed against somebody. It can get to be overwhelming. It got to be overwhelming for David. And he said, God, don’t remember those sins of my youth, have holy amnesia. Don’t remember them! And don’t remember my rebellious ways! Some of this I can blame on my youth, but my rebellious ways, those were willful sins.

“According to your love remember me, for you, LORD, are good.”

We need to get free from all the stuff we’ve done in the past. Know that God has forgiven them and cast them as far away as the east is from the west. So, we can say with confidence to God,

“Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, LORD, are good.”

My friend, Dawson McAllister, created many timely life lessons for the everyday challenges we all face, I’m honored to continue sharing them with you each week.
