1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Blink of an Eye

Dear Praying Friend,

It rained every day last week. It seemed like the days became gloomier and gloomier. But then on Friday, the sun began to break through ever so slowly. I wheeled Fulton outside so the sun would shine directly on him. I watched him to see how he would respond. Little by little, he opened his eyes and looked around with wonderment. He was sure glad to be out in the sunlight.

The whole incident got me thinking about what will happen when the Lord returns. In the blink of an eye, everything will change. A blink of an eye takes about a third of a second. So, in 1/3 of a second we will go from relative darkness to the brightness and beauty of Jesus Christ. Like Fulton, we will become amazed to be caught up with the Son. The longer I serve the Lord, the more I wait for that day. “So, come Lord Jesus.”

Your Friend,

Dawson

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
